I'm in S. CA too and I love rain, but not warm, humid rain. Nice, cool rain! I wish it would rain more often in this area. The weather report I was looking at said it wouldn't rain until Friday in my city.

It's now 6:30 and it just started here. Can I say I'm SO thankful we didn't have thunderstorms during school! That would have totally put me over the edge.....

Thunder and lightning in San Diego this evening, but no rain yet. Very exciting.

Crazy weather! DS is at the football game and there was a lightning delay! No rain/thunder in central CA.

For my fellow SoCal teachers... the rain was too short for my taste. Loved the thunderstorms and lightning, but agreed, thank goodness it wasn't during school! Looking forward to possibly more rain on Friday. Thank goodness we aren't in the 90s and 100s this week!

Here in Phoenix we've had rain, thunder, lightning - on and off during the day! I love it!

Also in So Cal. We did get quite a bit of rain last evening, and the lightning show was spectacular. Because it had been so dry for so long, the lightning set a bunch of palm trees on fire. Thankfully they were put out quickly by homeowners and firefighters. The rain also helped. We don't often get weather, so this was really exciting for us. I was walking on the beach in the afternoon yesterday when there was already some lightning. The lifeguards called everyone out of the water, including surfers and kayakers, due to the danger of getting struck.
