I teach 5th grade social studies and need a fun unit to end out the year. I've covered my standards and need something that is going to let the kids be active and engaged! Any ideas?

researching their own town/city for places they can go this summer? Or maybe day trips to take from their hometown? Maybe a budget choice and a sky's the limit choice to bring economics into the assignment. They could create brochures or ads of some sort. Ads could be filmed on the computer maybe. They could work individually or in pairs. Could be a fun activity and actually useful as a reminder of how not to get bored this summer.

what about doing an escape room with the events covered this year?

or having them create board games with the standards and then having them play?
