I am trying to see the positives and I have been able to spend a lot of quality time with my DH and kids. I do miss seeing extended family, but thankful for technology that keeps us in touch.
One word? I want to say "Go with the Flow" but that's obviously more than one word so maybe just flow? Or different? Unique? Rare? Unexpected?
So many people think 2020 was bad. I get it was hard to isolate, not see family, cancel plans, etc. However, I still enjoyed my year. It was different. While I couldn't see my niece, travel, had to cancel vacation plans multiple times, couldn't do certain lessons/activities/trips with my class, etc, there was still a lot of lot good. I grew in my appreciation for school, work, and fake. I was able to relax and have more down time. I was able to read more. I was able to watch more tv and movies. I was able to play more board games and spend more time with family.
my thinking is similar to yours! I know many have suffered in various ways this year. For us, this year has gone by quickly. Though we have had some disappointments (DS went to Navy Boot Camp and there was no graduation ceremony due to COVID restrictions), for the most part we were blessed with steady income, good health, and time spent with each other. The main thing I missed this year was being able to go to baseball and football games and concerts.
I had to do a lot of unexpected/unwelcome (at the time)/unanticipated growth this year. I'm better for it, although I do wish the "why" for how it all came about hadn't happened.
