Whose tree is still up? When does it/did it come down?

I hate taking Christmas decorations down. I try to find decorations that are winter that can stay up.

I keep mine up through the sixth of January, but we're usually back into full-swing of school by that point, so I don't actually take mine down until MLK Day.

I took my tree down a couple days after Christmas. I usually leave it up until Jan. 6, too. This year I couldnít bear to look at any more.

with the exception of two small outdoor inflatables and the tree itself. The tree comes down tomorrow and the inflatables will be taken down after they have a chance to dry out from all of the rain this week. I am waiting for Amazon to get me my gift wrap storage & I need to order some sort of wreath storage. We didn't put out nearly as much stuff this year as we did last year.

My Southern mother's tradition (superstition) was that the tree had to be taken down before New Year's to bring good luck. So, I still take it down on New Year's Eve. When I was teaching, I took it down a few days earlier so I could have a few days of peace and order before returning to school.

Remember, I live where trees go up right after Thanksgiving.

I'm just finishing putting everything else away today.

I usually do it on New Year's Day. This year, we decorated kind of late, and I'm not ready to take it all down yet. Maybe next weekend.

I only did a small tree and my mantle this year. I will keep mine up until I no longer "need" them...right now, they still bring me peace and joy, so up they remain.

I've been known to keep mine up all of January and into February. I don't think that will happen this year, though. Time will tell...

We are an Epiphany family. So the decorations are still up. Our priest encourages people to wait until Christmas Eve to decorate. We havenít jumped on board with that one.

We have a real tree and it went up the first weekend of Dec and came down yesterday--it was pretty crispy crunchy.

I've always taken Christmas decorations down on NYE because my daughter's birthday is Jan 1 and I wanted the house to be all birthday. But now she's grown and the decorations make me happy so I'll leave them up longer than usual this year. I have a few snowmen that always stay out through January.

Ugggh! We left the day after Christmas for Florida for a week of handling things after my FIL's passing! We're on our way home now and I'll have to face the Christmas chaos!!!

We always take it down on Jan. 1st. We're usually hanging around the house that day anyway (tired from staying up late and nothing is open), so it works out.

this year our "stand in" tree is little Dylan. The real Dylan gave me a small Norfolk Pine when I taught him in Kindergarten. I think he in 11th grade now. And little Dylan is not so little. I usually have him sitting on window ledge at school, but was afraid to take him in this year in case we have to go remote. He is really too big for anywhere else in the house, so I may take the ornaments off, and just leave Dylan in the window with the lights.

Mine is still up. I normally take it down by the end of winter break, which would be tomorrow, but IDK this year. I'm enjoying having it up and who is to stop me from keeping it up as long as I want? It's not like anyone is coming over . I'm going to keep it up until I get sick of it. Mine is also a little baby tree, so it's not super imposing. It's probably 3.5 feet tall and not very far around.

Mine will come down on Thursday after Epiphany. The wreath on my door won't come down until Feb. 1, though. If the weather allows, I'll burn it in my patio firepit.

We just took it down today. I have to have things back to "normal" to start back to school. I wanted to take it down New Year's Eve, but got push back from the adult children. It was pretty easy taking all the decorations down, and the living room feels so much more spacious.

I have always done this as well, but no one in my family is from the south. My DH (who does have southern family members) swears I made this up so I could have a clean and uncluttered house.

We always have the Christmas decorations put away and clean the house before New Years. I was told you donít want to enter the new year with the clutter of the old year.

Iím not superstitious at all, so he has my reasoning correct, but Iím so glad to hear that other people have this tradition as well and I didnít just make it up. (My family does it too, but we all like a clean uncluttered house )

we didn't even put it up this year! (DH didn't want to be bothered with it--ha! DIL did it last year, and I put it up the year before...so...) and school went VERY LATE for me this year, and i had a lot going on, so i was happy to not even deal with it.

i didn't even get out the door wreath and the couple of old "stand by" decorations that i put out even when i'm busy!

i put up a fun garland that my previous teaching partner made and gave me right before thanksgiving, stockings, and the gnomes i won and those i bought last year (since they were in the stockings box).

i packed it all up on the 31st and announced "earliest christmas decorations packed up ever!" (it has been into spring some years....) boxes in laundry room waited for an opportunity for me to move my car to put them up....i pulled into DH's side of the garage today after errands and threw them up there--awesome benefit to super-low-key decorating this year!

After chatting with the neighbors behind us, we both agreed to keep our trees up until mid or late January because we each enjoy seeing the lights across the span between us!

I always take everything down the day after Christmas. I love Christmas decor, and Iím Catholic, but I have this weird, compelling urge to get it all put away on the 26th. My mom is the same way.

After Epiphany for me. We used to do it on the 8th because dhís birthday was the 7th, and he didnít want to take everything down on his birthday. I will just have to figure out when makes most sense now, but likely I will do some on the 7th and some on the 8th.

Generally Iíd take everything down this weekend (if not sooner) but I hurt my arm/shoulder at the beginning of December and the pain is lingering so Iím taking everything slowly for now. There are other things that need to get done by Monday. If I get it down by MLK weekend Iíll be happy.

Our tradition is take down Christmas decorations in the house on New Year's Day so the house is cleaned and a fresh start. This year we had them up since Thanksgiving, so it felt like plenty of time! The outside decorations are still up until it stops raining and I get out there to take down and put into storage building.
I do have a collection of snowmen that will remain up until Valentine's Day.
