I still don't know how our state will notify us. Out of curiosity, how is your state handling the vaccine distribution? Did you hear of it through the general media or did you get some sort of direct notification? Are they going by categories or age? I seem to remember hearing recently that a particular state (Maybe Florida? Maybe others?) is having people vaccinated on a first-come, first-served basis which has caused a whole other set of problems.
I look forward to the day when this virus isn't such a huge concern for us!
It seems you're among the first of the PT family to get the Covid vaccine. Wishing you all the best (with no side effects!)
Great news for you! My nurse DS got hers on Wednesday without any issues. I am hoping that the state I teach in will start vaccinating teachers by the end of Jan. I am concerned about how they will do this and if any regulations will be in place. I do not live in the state I teach in but am hoping I can get a vaccine in that state. I do have a license in the state I live in, but since I don't teach in my home state I may not qualify here either. I am praying I don't get stuck in the middle.
Good to hear. The only person I know IRL is my sister in law, because she works in a hospital. Also, she will be one of the people giving out vaccinations once she gets her second dose. So I guess I will be in "the know" just a bit about how the rollout is going in her state. (She lives in OH.)
I am working with my county’s Covid outreach and testing department. I got my first shot Christmas Eve, a bit of a sore arm. Next day maybe 24 hours after shot, super tired. I get the second this week.
That is great, Are all teachers in your district or state eligible, or do you fall in a different group? Teachers in my district may be able to get one at the end of the month.

I'm in NY and yes, it's by category.. Now they're doing 1b...dont ask me who that includes. It's teachers , education workers and a lot more!! I'll let you know how it goes tom.
I will admit that I'm a little freaked out about the length of the needle but I plan on not looking. )
I am in NY and was unable to get an appointment today. I tried during my prep and during lunch and after school and couldn't get an appointment. I'll keep trying.
