For those who have followed my story, my DD had a double mastectomy at age 39. Her surgery went fine, she had reconstruction done and it went fine but her genetic markers indicated a moderate risk for recurrence. There is a test that is new (to me) that identifies a genotype, or genetic type, and this further refines the treatment plan for breast cancer.
She will go in at 8:30 and come out at 3:30. Seven hours! No one can go with her because of Covid. Her hubby will be her chaffeur and caretaker tomorrow.
This mother's heart is grateful for more treatment but heavy with sadness that I can't take her place.
I would trade places with her in a heartbeat!
Prayers for your daughter and your family as you journey down this path. It stinks that she can’t have anyone with her. Tell her your PT group is cheering her on in spirit!!
Musiclover, I can't imagine how you're feeling right now, but I'm willing to bet your DD knows you'd be there for her if you were allowed. Try to have a peaceful day tomorrow while your daughter is having her treatment...Is there anything you can do for her afterward that would make you feel helpful and would be a blessing to her, too? I'm certain some Mom TLC would be appreciated if it's safe for her.

How very very lovely you are. I know that all of us who are mothers of adults understand and admire you. I’ll be thinking of your DD—and of you as you worry about her.
Prayers for all of you. When I had my chemo, the room was so small that companions, while welcomed, really made it hard for nurses to do their job. I know you long to be there with her. COVID makes that not possible; your daughter knows that. I’m glad her DH will be there as much as possible.
May your DD find this truly keeps the cancer at bay.
I pray your daughter will have the best care possible as she undergoes chemo. It can be a life saving treatment. I know this from personal experience. Chemo nurses as a rule are awesome and do everything in their power to keep their patients comfortable.
Sending prayers for your DD & Family. I know its difficult not being able to be there for her in person, but know you can be her cheerleader virtually. Your DD is blessed to have a caring and loving DH.
My aunt is undersgoing radition therapy tomorrow for her cancer and she too can't have anyone with her. Unlike your DD, my uncle is not supportive and does not do anything for her. Her DDs take care of her as needed.
I'll be thinking of you both as she goes through her chemo. It will be a long wait for you, so I'm hoping her husband will remember to keep you informed as he is updated while the hours move along.
Prayers for you and your daughter and her hubby. It sounds like she has been through a lot already. She is lucky to have you and her hubby there for her. Prayers for a successful chemo treatment.
Prayers abound for her, her husband and you are you face this journey together. I am grateful for that genotype test. I had it done also and that is why I also had chemo. It was certainly not fun, but it was doable and looking back now the time passed quickly. I with the same for your daughter!
