Hello, I'm curious to see the time line of testing for those of you who use NWEA MAP. We follow the Fall, Winter, Spring and generally test in October, January, and May. However,this year for some reason our PARCC testing window ran late. So, in an effort to "not over-test" the kids, my 3rd graders are taking the Spring MAP the second to last week of school in JUNE!!

They are already so over school and testing and with the EOY benchmarks I have to do - I'm not feeling confident in the scores coming my way.

My question is: Generally speaking, when do you do your last round of Spring MAP testing as well as final benchmarks? TIA

We do ours in Mid May to end of May to get all grades done. Many of our scores are lower than their January scores. Can you say "test fatigue"? Our kids test in some grades for over a solid month.

We stopped doing spring MAP because we ran into overtesting issues as well. Our MAPs were first, though, so it was our state testing that became a problem, with kids finishing in 10 minutes or goofing off during the test.

Our students took the spring test at the end of February, many of the skills tested had not even been taught. We took it early because the time for the state's test was pushed back by two weeks, and the district wanted to avoid over testing at the end of the year. But teachers were left in a bind trying to cover what is normally taught in March and April in January and February.
