Does anyone have a list of Picture books to use for teaching the story element of character?

Fairy tales can be a good way to introduce thus concept. Most kanalready know the story line and can focus on the element you're teaching. They also have characters with strong traits that are easy to identify. You could then read another version of the same tale and do a compare/contrast activity. A good way to do this is with Cinderella and the book Cinderella Skeleton. The characters are similar int actions and traits but vastly different in appearance

Kevin Henkes books are great to use for character studies. I've used them with my third graders.
