Q-tips! I've seen skeletons and snowflakes out of Q-tips. In sure there are many other possibilities.

Paper quilts. You can give them templates to glue shapes onto, make patterns, etc. Then put all of their quilt squares together into a wall hanging.

Q ideas

I traced a capital Q on 20 purple sheets of construction paper (purple for royalty) and a crown on a half-sheet of yellow paper, and the kids cut out the Q, glued on the crown, and made a face in the center of the Q.

A co-worker traced 20 quilts (a loosely defined square with I guess 16 squares drawn inside) and the kids cut out around the 'quilt' and colored in the squares. You can also cut up fabric into 2 or 3 inch squares and have the kids glue them onto a piece of construction paper.

Have fun!

I also did the paper quilt one with a couple of groups. I pre-cut small squares of scrapbook paper and gave the kids grids to glue them on. They were able to choose their own favorite squares and arrange them in any pattern they liked, and it was really neat to see (predict?) who did what.
