I know some of you have been retired longer than me, but I was just looking at PASSWORDS and the scholastic one came up! Can I give this amt to an upcoming teacher?

Perhaps you could order for someone using your account. Ask around to see what would be useful to the newer guys.

When I retired I gave my bonus points to a new teacher (if that is what you are referring to).

Just before retiring, I used all my remaining bonus points to buy each child 2 books plus a Target gift card from the bonus catalog. I used the card to buy a heavy-duty pencil sharpener for the teacher replacing me.

Scholastic points

I did give all my points to a fellow teacher when I retired. Why keep them when they came from students in the first place? I saved very, very little from my room. And what I did bring home, I never even looked at. Got rid of everything last year. We had a retiring teacher who took literally truckloads of stuff from her room. Every book, bookcase, everything. The room was bare for the incoming teacher. Not nice at all. Same teacher stole things from my room the summer I was moving in. Never called her on it but the principal knew what she did. Some folks just do not have the word share in their vocabulary....

I didn't think you could...

When there were paper coupons, I remember a teacher giving me hers when she retired. Now, it's electronic under your log-in account, so I didn't realize you could share them with others.

When i retired, I had accumulated a lot. Originally, I was saving for a chromebook, but much to my surprise, I discovered I had enough for an I-Pad. Lucky me! I used the rest for end-of-the-year gifts for my students and got rid of them that way.

I hope you are able to give them to someone else, but if not, as another person suggested, maybe you could do the order and have them give you any money. You would just need to alert the school secretary that a box with your name on it was coming in, because I think they only ship book orders to schools.

I wanted to transfer them to my DD, That didn't work. I ended up using them up on books that she could use for her classroom. I don't understand why it bothers Scholastic who spends the points.

Thanks for the reminder! The informational n on the website says the points will stay with your classroom.

I just called to close my account. I asked if they would transfer my points to the person taking my place, then I gave them the name of one of my friends in my school.

I think if the points stay in your school it doesn’t matter who they go to.
