Just for the record...if you are in another room, you're not in line for the copier.

Also, if you get off the swing it is no longer your swing.

Chipmunky, YES! Leave your stack of copies to save your spot, whatever. But don't just leave and think you can come back later and jump the line!

But if you're not back by the time your spot reaches the copier, you'll have to wait!

Don't worry. The person in front of you will jam the copier good with paper that have to be unjammed in every section of the machine, or the toner will need to be replaced and it won't make copies until everyone has to wait for secretary to put in new toner tube, or it will break down where the repair man will have to be called and a sign "Out of Order" is put on the copier right in front of you.

It does not matter that you waited in line for 15 minutes. Then there is a mad rush to the copier in the farthest part of the building on the machine that makes copies at the speed of a snail and its first come first serve there also.

Have a nice day!

But if I get off the recliner chair to get ice cream, the chair is still mine right? How about if I leave my blanket on the chair?

OMG! What about the remote?! What happens to that?

Last year the school switched from printers in the classroom to several centrally located machines. Teachers send "jobs" to a printer. The problem occurs when a teacher sends a "job" to a printer, no paper in the printer, (everyone is responsible for their own paper), and doesn't immediately go to the printer with paper. If you are already in the workroom you can't print if other jobs are in the queue and not printed yet. You have 2 options, use your own paper for someone else's copies, hoping you brought enough extra paper or delete the "jobs" holding you up. A third option is that the teacher sending the jobs to a printer can also "hold" the job until s/he is physically at the copier but few remember to click the "hold" option before sending the job. I won't even comment on the teachers that use the copier for classroom sets, which is a no-no. There is another machine for classroom sets.

Can you tell I started the day off in a very bad mood? I was quite busy this morning and it really pi$$ed me off, one more time!

Eln, that is a perfect description of how it usually goes when you are in a hurry or desperately need the copies.

I hate copies, meetings, projectors, principals, teachers that drone on and on at the meetings that I hate, grading, new curriculum that will be out before I even master it, new stupid buzz words that really donít mean a damn thing, and duty. I donít hate teaching or the kids, but It doesnít seem to be about that anymore. I wish all the adults would just shut up and let me enjoy teaching kids!!!

Oooh! That's a big no-no at my school. You'll get the stink eye from the secretary if you don't use hold.
