My school does not have a gymnasium or a large indoor play area (our lunchroom is in the After School program building). I am in need of games/activities to play with grades 1-6 for when the weather is too cold to be outside. PLEASE HELP!

Do you have an overhead projector or something similar?

This website has great 'community building' activities that can serve as indoor games. Look through the site to find games you might be able to use.

I have 1st/2nd combined and 5th/6th combined........the other grades are separate.

I do have an overhead.

Thank you all for the responses!! I have seen PECentral before but, tend to get completely overwhelmed with everything that is there to look at.

I will definitely check out the other sites!

THANK YOU!!

(I did "wrestling" today with 5/6.........it was INSANE!!! We did arm, thumb, leg etc. It was fun to watch them but, it was LOUD AND CRAZY!)

to do this, but if you can figure out how to email me nancy 5862 @ cable one dot com and send me your email address, I will get some stuff for you that is neat, easy and fun. There are no spaces, of course, and the dot is really a dot.

Have you tried sport (cup) stacking? It's noisy but makes for a good small-space activity.

What type of equipment to you have use of and what is your space size? The part time teacher at my school (I'm the full time) who teaches in the cafeteria just got finished a dance unit. Kept it simple, space has an projector, and ran a step by step dance dvd. You may want to also look into team building type activities. One I use to do, especially with the younger ones was to break them into groups and had them make numbers, letters, and shapes. They had to use everyone in the group and they could not talk, only hand signals. If they talked the other group got a point otherwise first group to finish the task got the point.
