Clip to ScrapBook #1

I am first year & am teaching a K/1 class -- we have NOT yet had reader's or writer's workshops & I have just been integrating both into our literacy centers -- but I am thinking I want to have specific workshop time -- I have a few students that won't be able to do either so maybe I can work with them in a small group while the others work but I am not sure exactly how the workshops work...please help?

I should start getting commissions for recommending these books but I recommend Kathy Collins' Growing Readers and the Daily 5 by the Two Sisters. I use a combo of these two for my workshop in first.

I used both resources above as well as Reading with Meaning by Debbie Miller. LUcy Calkins' Unit of Study is great for Writer's Workshop.
