Thinking of a switch

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hello all!
Iím currently a Elementry teacher in second grade. Iíve been thinking over the past two years of switching gears and looking into jobs where I wonít be responsible for all core subjects. Iíd like to specialize so that I can focus on one subject area. Iíve been researching alternatives to the regular elem school teacher ..

Since I love art I was thinking that may be a natural fit. My question is that would I need an art degree ? Or is there just a certification Iíd need to get? I am in MD if that plays a part.

Thanks for any insight!

I know in my state you have to have at least 18 credit hours in the subject and take the art praxis to obtain an endorsement in any content area. I have my art degree and am certified to teach k-12 art. I still had to take the praxis and all that.
