would have a year of piano lessons under my belt!!

I'm preparing for my THIRD recital coming up on Saturday! The performance has gotten easier, as many of you said it would.

I've even memorized my piece! I don't know how that happened. I'm playing "Mickey Mouse Club." Our recital is called "Disney Extravaganza." Everyone is performing a piece from Disney. We will have singers, piano players, and guitar players. It should be entertaining.

My DH started taking lessons last year. He actually sounds good. His big challenge is Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. He has been working on this for months.

I restarted taking piano lessons in January of 2018. I took lessons from Middle School to 1st year in college, then stopped through 35 years of teaching. It has been fun relearning and getting better at playing. Keeps the brain engaged!

That is wonderful that you have been taking piano for a year and can actually MEMORIZE your recital piece. I used to take piano lessons when I was in grade school, but I hated the recitals. I would get so so nervous it spoiled piano for me. Last Christmas my DH gave me a beautiful full sized keyboard that sounds like a concert piano. I've been playing (badly at first, and mediocre now) every day. I have played these 4 songs over and over to try to achieve perfection: Imagine, Michelle, and Good Night all by the Beatles and Canon in D Major. I can't imagine memorizing them. But playing piano is so good for my hands & brain. Very relaxing. I'm proud of you. Have a fantastic recital!!
