Oh yes!! I remember the day I did that. Freed up more space for time wasting games I wanted to play.

Side note here: when I first joined PT, for some bizarre reason, I thought you were married to Hifiman!!!!

I retired in June and I have deleted a lot of the school related files on my home computer, but I for some reason I can't delete the most important things just yet. I guess it will take me a little more time to fully realize that it's real and I really won't have to work anymore.

Teachers go back to work next week and school starts September 3. I am going in to help my two best friends get ready, so maybe seeing my old room with someone else in it will convince me. I'm sure seeing the stress and craziness will get rid of any sadness I am feeling about giving up this part of my life!

I also retired in June and will admit to feeling a bit lost right now. I have started cleaning out my home computer files, but the amount of resources in my basement is overwhelming. I have been helping friends get their rooms set up for the new year which makes me happy. I will also go back in October to do their reading assessments. I plan on going away to visit my elderly parents and spend some time with my B and SIL who are near to my parents once school starts. We'll get this figured out. For the life of me, I can't understand why I am having back to school nightmares. Guess I really haven't let it go. Best wishes for the next chapter.

I am feeling the same way. I'm not quite separated from the idea that I should be getting up and going to work in the morning. But I'm working on it (smile!)

I found it took me a year to find myself and what I was going to do/how Iíd spend my time after my retirement. Give yourselves time and try various things. Teaching was an important part of your/our lives, but now you can explore other things.

I saved the important stuff on my computer for two years, and then cleaned it out. I seemed to be the computer nerd of my team, and I kept getting emails requesting this and that - mostly templates, and beginning/end of year stuff. I asked when we went out for coffee last summer and they figured they had culled all they needed.

That must have been a great feeling! I remember when I spent a morning and purged my "teacher clothes". It was pretty liberating.

I canít think of any other profession that takes over so many parts of our lives and hearts.

Retirement takes moving through stages thatís for sure.

I deleted all the files from my school computer. I got a frantic phone call from the VP looking for the the files for the duties I did at school...bus duty, Fall feastval, Relay for Life etc. I let her know I deleted the files
and threw out the hard copies. She was not happy but it made me feel great.
