Iím curious how you do your spelling tests.

Do they take a protest and then if they donít get them all correct, retake it?

Iíve seen a practice where a pretest (Monday) is given, then if you get at least an A-, you are given challenge words. Other kids that didnít get an A- or above take the same test Friday.

Hereís what I donít think is fair. If you donít get them all right on Monday but still get an A-, you are stuck with that grade whereas other kids get two chances to get an A+.

Yes, I see. Iím just surprised that they bother with distinctions between A- and A+ in first grade.

Seems like both are entitled to feel good about getting an A.
