Every time I see Chris Brown or hear a song of his on the radio, I immediately think of what he did to Rihanna. Our local news station posted this on Facebook and asked the question: Why do we still celebrate Chris Brown? What is wrong with society?

Then they posted this site with some pretty upsetting Tweets.

What do ya'll think? Pretty sick, if you ask me. I seriously want to cry for all of these sad, sad women who would trivialize the horror fellow women go through at the hands of men like Chris Brown.

I feel the same way. I understand everyone is entitled to their opinion, and we are supposed to forgive however it is difficult in certain cases, this being one of them! Is he talented? Yes. The award was based on his talent so I suppose it was deserved, but unfortunately a person's character isn't taken into account or held in such a high regard as it should be.

I would so love to believe that he is all better and would never do it again , but I keep thinking about about the Oprah show and Oprah saying "you know he can never change? You know he will hit you again?"
how sad are those tweets??

In that there is a very long list of celebrities who do some awful things, yet we continue to celebrate them.

What?????!!!! These women are out of their mind. I watched the Grammys to see the Whitney Tribute and I wanted to changed the channel. However I may never get over what he did to Rihanna but she seems to have. I am sick reading the statements form these women, who would send out these messages that it is ok for someone like Brown with his celeb. to hit them if he "kisses" it or the can "have" him. WOW.

All I feel is sorry for them.

Rumor in the music industry is that CB and Rihanna are back together! I sure hope it is only a rumor!

I agree with Hifi in that there are many celebrities who have done/continue to do terrible things, and we continue to glorify them. For me, Chris Brown did something terrible, but he was also a kid. I'm not saying that excuses his behavior, but I also don't think it's something that should be held against him for the rest of his life. He is very talented, and hopefully he got some anger management treatment and learned from what he did.
