Have you seen this series? Do you like the show? Would you tell me a bit of what it is about?

My DH and I have watched all of this series. The series finale is tonight! It's definitely R rated. I have to cover my eyes sometimes because it can be violent. But, we have grown to like the characters, especially Saul and Carrie. Give it a try, but be ready for some graphic scenes, in terms of violence.

Itís about all the scariest, terrorist, spy, corrupt government agency scenarios actually happening in one series with Carrie / Claire Danes always being in the middle of it all. After watching the past seasons, its opened my eyes to all the worst things that the US govt could possibly face - without Covid 19.

We watched it a few years ago on Netflix. Very well done! Spies, FBI, mental illness, intriguing.

I have to confess sometimes the storylines confuse me, but it is a good show.

We enjoyed the series 24 before we started Homeland. Talk about a wild ride!!

I overthink things like--did Carrie bring her phone charger, did she pack enough medicine, does she have breath mints and stuff since she is away from her hotel so much, how do her clothes look nice even though she gets whisked away all the time??

Thank you for the good reviews. I am watching on Amazon Prime by signing up for 30 days of free Showtime.

We watched 3-4 seasons of Homeland and then quit watching it. This TV show had a good amount of suspense, drama and action sequences but it became overall depressing and dark for our taste in evening entertainment. Just my humble opinion..

The first few seasons were fantastic. The last 2-3 are ok.
I still recommend it, though.

Showtime

I have Showtime on Demand.

I watched the first seven seasons in twelve days. Seven seasons times twelve shows per season is 84 shows in twelve days.

I love it!! Yes, I agree they could use the f-word a lot less.

This season, I have watched it every Sunday night. I will be sad when it ends tonight.

I watch Late Night (From Home) with Steven Cobert the other night. Claire and Mandy were interviewed. I got the impression from their interview that maybe tonight is not the end...I was thinking movie in the future?? I hope tonight's episode does not leave me up in the air.

I was excited about it when it first started and watched the first few episodes as they aired, but haven't watched since. I didn't have the mental energy to really pay attention and follow. I often watch shows while I'm doing something else, so I need shows that don't require a lot of thinking

The first 2 seasons were so good, season 3 was okay, and I'm kind of fuzzy on the others. I've not seen season 7 yet. I'm going to catch up soon because I've watched everything else.

It is about FBI/counter-terrorism and all of the mistakes, torture, spying, and so on they get into.

Claire Danes and I are close in age and I always enjoyed her. She is VERY good in Homeland. Her character suffers from mental illness and it creates some life-threatening issues. Mandy Patinkin also stars in Homeland, and IMO, he commands the show equally to Claire Danes. Their characters' relationship has a lot of ups and downs.

I watched the first six seasons and really enjoyed them. I think the way Carrie is written and portrayed is brilliant in terms of making people understand how people who suffer from bipolar disorder can be wonderful and brilliant, but also awful and destructive and how loving someone like that can be a horrifying, but worthwhile roller-coaster ride.

I quit watching at the end of season 6, and people who have seen all the seasons can probably guess why. I may return and watch the last 2 seasons, though.

Yes, I didn't want to spoiler anything but I know what you are talking about! I agree, the writers made a big mistake there. I stopped watching for a time but last year decided to just go ahead and pick back up with it. I guess I feel compelled to watch it through to the end even though the show went down a lot after that season. I'll watch the finale sometime this week then I will cancel my Showtime subscription

I think I know what you are talking about, too. I agree that the later seasons were not as good. I have not watched the finale yet.

I think the first 2 seasons were the best.
