Who Loves Their Mattress?

Greyhound Girl was asking about a Sleep Number Bed earlier, and it made me wonder.

What mattress do you have and do you love it? Why or why not? Is it firm? Soft? In between?

The hubs and I really really need a new one, but I do not want to buy a Sleep Number Bed again.

Thank you!!

Me!!!!!!!!

We had a queen that we liked, but wanted a king. We both, especially me, were not fond of the king we bought. Suffered for several years.

Finally replaced with an off brand version this past December and love, love, love my new bed! We just had to spend a couple weeks in the old king because we are working in our room. You have no idea how much better my back feels now that I'm in my brick bed!!!

Like I mentioned in GG's post, we have a Nectar.

DH did a LOT of research on the different beds out there before we decided on the Nectar. We watched about 10 different comparison videos.

One of the things we learned is that sleeping position matters. DH and I are both side sleepers so we took that into consideration when choosing.

Another factor we looked at is motion transfer. I go to bed later and DH wakes up at 3am. DH is also a tumbler in his sleep so this was a huge thing for us.

When we were mattress shopping, there were less options, now there are quite a few more choices!

This is a great place to start:

We just bought a mattress from Wayfair. It's the Deanna 12 inch firm hybrid mattress--it has individual coils topped with 3 layers of foam. We've had it for less than a week and so far, so good. Man has already been sleeping better, complaining less about his back, and I can't tell when he gets in and out of bed a zillion times a night.

I don't remember what brand I have unless I take off the sheets and see, but I've had it for 8 yrs now and wish I had another and a queen...I have full. It's been nice though...no complaints. I like medium softness.

I've wondered how that Purple Mattress is.

My biggest problem is that I sleep hot! Iíd like to try Nectar or Casper but I worry about the memory foam type mattresses retaining heat. Does anyone have any experience with that?

I have a Tuft and Needle mattress. I love the mattress and their customer service is great.

We spent a fair amount of money on our mattress and Iíve never regretted it for one single second. We use that every single day and It say it leads to a better marriage. We both sleep better and are therefore more pleasant so we get along better. Lol.

We bought our mattress from Jordanís which is a New England phenomenon I know but itís basically a giant furniture store. They do this whole thing where they help analyze your sleep position etc. itís hokey but it works. I think our mattress is a sealy.

The guy also talked us into these ridiculously overpriced pillows. However theyíre great. Iíve had mine for several years and Iím actually considering going back and getting another bc I like it so much.

My advice- never skimp on a mattress.

Thank you so much for your advice!! I'm hoping we can get a new one soon, because I'm tired of not sleeping well. (Of course, my doctor said that my not sleeping well could be due to the fact I'm almost 50. )
