I am thinking about an outside display for my back to school bulletin board...I can't find an outline for tootsie rolls ANYWHERE...so I created my own...does this REALLY look like a tootsie roll???

this is what I was thinking...since my new married last name is Roller...I was thinking about using this cute guy...look below...and having him say in a speech bubble, "Look who's ROLLing into Mrs. Rollers 3rd grade class." and then have these tootsie rolls everywhere with their name on it...OR

I could get some Toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls and make them...now that would be CUTE...but how to get 25ish rolls in time and make them is the question...

I just made it in word...with shapes...that's all! I am glad you think it looks like a tootsie roll i wasn't sure

Either one you choose will look great, Tonya! You're so crafty, and to tell you the truth, you make me feel soooo lazy! It's a long shot, but maybe another teacher has collected paper towel or toilet paper rolls and would let you have them? I had a shopping bag full of paper towel rolls for years because I was going to "use them someday for something." Hoarder alert! I finally gave them to one of my friends who's craftier than I am. Maybe you'll luck out.

It looks awesome! Making the tootsie rolls with the paper rolls would be so cute. Instead of using toilet paper rolls would you make your own with some poster board or a heavy card stock. I can totally see how to make them in my head...haha!! Just make a little roll of poster board, roll in white tissue paper and tie the ends with a ribbon or something. Print off your tootsie roll wrappers on normal white paper and just wrap them around your creation and tape. How cute would that be!!

I can't wait to see a picture of what you decide to do, I know it will look great and the kiddies will LOVE it!!

It looks exactly like a Tootsie Roll! I like the 3D idea. You could roll construction paper into tubes if you can't find enough toilet rolls. Years ago the Dollar Tree had a deck of cards shaped like mini Tootsie Rolls that would have been good to use somehow too.
