Maybe this will become a regular post to help remind us to take care of ourselves.

Yesterday I played hooky. I slept in, got my haircut, and had a nice lunch out on one of my favorite cafe's patio. Then I went home and took a glorious nap.

I need to do some cleaning and decluttering today to restore some order/sanity here at home:
-take some things to the shed
-conquer Laundry Mountain
-put away said laundry
-clean the litterbox

Errands:
-take returns to Target
-Kroger run

Other self-care:
-pedi date with my bestie
-at-home movie date with DH
-maybe a facial at home?

ran 3.5 miles
enjoyed breakfast burrito and tots and OJ from Sonic

going to watch Boise State football game while planning

reading, reading, reading...

work on putting a stack of clothes away--the pile on chair in bedroom is about to topple over!

I slept late, and now we are going to do a few simple household task, then watch TV for awhile.

I need some extra care this weekend! Not feeling great. Coming off of a very busy week and have an extremely busy week next week.

I've:
-Turned down evening plans so I can stay home
-gathered outside with a group from my church
-got my grocery shopping done early so I can relax

I plan to read, watch tv, give myself a mini pedicure, and go to bed early. I'm watching church online tomorrow so I can have a much-needed day at home.

Still need to do a lot around the house though.

Did some housework. Finished a book, started another. Went to Agway to get some new perennials for my gardens that I cleaned a lot of things out of last weekend. Watching last night's episode of Magnum now, a kind of show we call "mac n cheese"

It probably doesn't count as self-care, exactly, but it's celebration Saturday for me. I saw my doctor yesterday: hA1c is 6.4 (goal is <7), BP is 124/73 (goal is <130/80) and down 12 lb from last check in June. So, for this day only, I'm having pasta for supper (lasagna) and following it up with ice cream. Tomorrow it's back to carb counting and strategizing for how I can keep my numbers that good through the winter.

I am focusing on myself on the weekends.
-had a yummy breakfast from a local restaurant (take out)
-nice weekend cup of coffee
-went back to bed and had a glorious long nap
-now at sonís house having an impromptu bbq. Getting to know new daughter and discussing possible baby names. First grand cones in January.
-Making a Target run after the bbq.

Much needed:
*Sipped coffee on back porch and watched the squirrels/birds at the feeder.
*Walked 3 1/2 miles - weather was beautiful.
*Yoga after that.
*Now eating popcorn and watching college football while cat snoozes on me.

Productive: laundry during the game.

Tomorrow should be church, then Saints game on TV.

Today, I:
*slept in an extra hour
*enjoyed my coffee on our enclosed front porch
*started reading a new book
*did a stretching workout instead of a cardio or weight training workout

I took a walk around the block.

It’s now 7:20 and I’m in bed. For the past three and a half months I have not been able to go to bed before midnight.
