facial w/extractions

I was thinking about getting a facial sometime in the future, and since I've never had one, I was doing some research. What does it mean if the facial includes extractions? That sounds kind of scary to me Thanks in advance!

Getting extractions means they remove whatever is clogging your pores. I'll be honest, it is a little painful but it is very worth it. It's the same sensation as tweezing.

I actually asked for the extractions once when I got a facial and realized the woman wasn't going to do them. I don't see the point of getting a facial if you're not going to extract the stuff that's clogging my pores. After everything is unclogged and cleaned your skin will feel oh so smooth!

I get the extractions too. They hurt, but your face benefits. You should be aware that you may have some redness for a day or two. I am fair and that is what happens to me.

Don't get extractions the day of a big event

For me anyway, they do make my skin red for a few days, so don't get that kind of facial the day before your wedding, or some big event that you want to look nice for. Maybe a week before would be good.

I had my first facial this summer and had extractions too. I will admit they are a bit uncomfortable, but like PP said, it is a lot like tweezing. It made my skin beautiful though! I think it's worth it. I didn't have a lot of redness either, but I have also heard not to get a facial within 2-3 days of a big event, so would do that to be on the safe side.

I would think that means they pop your pimples.??? I dont get facials because I am super sensative to products. However this summer I had two chemical peels. I have old acne scars. Each time it takes about two weeks to recover from the redness and then peeling. The results are amazing! Everyone has commented on how great my skin looks.

I've had several facials that include extractions. It doesn't hurt that bad to me; however, they steam my face first, which loosens up the "stuff" that is clogging your pores.

Well that doesn't sound too bad...thanks for the replies! I'm still a little confused. What do they use to unclog your pores and how do they do it? Now you've got me curious!

extractions

i'd only had one other "light" facial when i had a facial last year and she started doing those....i said, "uh....what are you doing?" and she said "extractions" and i thought it was funny! too me, it felt like squeezing the head around blackheads. felt like she was using something like tweezers.

i did have to ask her to stay around this one area by my lip, because i have a little cold sore virus that tends to break out when i "mess" with that area!

organic facials

I get organic facials. You cannot beat the smell of the products along with the peace of mind that you know there are no chemicals on your face. I have received some pretty intense products which caused redness. Since it was all natural, I was o.k. with it.

I will never go back to any other type of facial!
