Are you a procrastinator?

I had Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to do the things I needed for school tomorrow. Now I'm sitting here drowning in papers to grade and haven't even done my lesson plans for my 7/8 class. I do have 4/5 and 9/10 done. I wish I would have done all of this on Friday!!!

Sadly do you see that I'm on PT instead of grading still? Ok back to work.

I decided to answer later.

It actually depends on the task. Once I start though, I like to stay at ugly until done.

Ummm, we have today off as part of a long Easter weekend. My house is a wreck and I haven't touched my school stuff, but I just played Wordle and now I am on PT... (I have dusted half the den, but got to the table with my computer and decided I deserved a break. )

For things that have an actual deadline Iím like Keltikmom, get going and get it done quickly so I donít stress about it. For things that just need doing but donít have a deadline like cleaning the pantry or taking those boxes of donations to the thrift store I do put it off.

I'm an absolute procrastinator about everything. Thankfully, I work well under pressure. Sometimes I have to pull an all nighter like when it's report card time. When will I learn....

I put the ďproĒ in procrastinator and live by the motto ďnever do today what you can put off until tomorrow.

But, once I start working I plow through until Iím done. I donít stop for food, breaks, sleep, or anything else.

I used to be a pretty terrible procrastinator until I finally realized how much stress I was adding to my life that way. If it's something connected to my job or something that has an inflexible deadline, I usually just do it right away so I don't have to worry about it. If it's that floor that needs mopping, that lawn that needs mowing or that phone call to a contractor for a minor home issue, I might procrastinate for quite a while. If I find myself persistently thinking about it, though, I know it's time to quit procrastinating and get it done.

Lesson plans are done and big project is graded. Still have four things left to grade, but these things don't have to be done immediately. I will start working on them though.

Weirdly when it comes to things like something to do for email like a survey, I get it done right away so that I don't forget.

I'm with PoohBear on this one...the have-tos I want to get over and done. But I can put off making phone calls for YEARS. (Also can put off dusting and vacuuming.)

I drag my feet with returning or making phone calls related to making appointments, inquiries, etc.

I canít relax until my unpleasant tasks are done. I hate feeling stressed on Sunday evenings to the point I overtire myself on Fridays.

I am way too much the other way. Always planning and completing things way too much ahead of time because last minute things stress me out. Unfortunately, too many times, I have had to redo things because things changed.

Same! If I know I have things hanging over my head, I can't relax and enjoy anything else. I have to do it and be done with it.

DH is the opposite, so he teases me when I get things done ahead of time and then something changes and I have to redo it. He always says, "See, this is the reason you need to procrastinate."

Depends on the task, for me. I never procrastinate at work, but that's partially because I'm motivated to get more done during contract hours. If I have a free minute, I'm working on something, and I'm usually ahead.

With household chores, it can be a different story. I am faithful with doing laundry every Sunday night. I pick up all clutter every night before I go to bed- just an ingrained habit. But actual cleaning, like vacuuming and mopping, I procrastinate on all of the time.

I'm really good at procrastinating. It's one of my gifts.

I was the student that started a 10 page paper at 1 am the the day it was due.

I donít procrastinate. If I donít do something immediately, I think about it constantly until it is done.
