Contest rules were not followed. I will be complaining!

I do not appreciate people changing things around to suit them.

As an aside. I am tired of being taken for granted in my present job. Not teaching.

Vent over

I entered a plein air painting competition. Spent 3 hours... the rules stated 3 places, 100$ to first place, 50 to second and 25 to third. It also said no cash awards if 5 people didnt enter.

So they get 4 entrants. They give 150 to first place. Nothing to second. And dont bother giving a third.

I did call this morning and made my complaint. Fair manager said she eould do some checking and call me back.

I take care of my 98 year old dad. Often he takes me for granted.

I just wanted you to know that you wrote something on a board a few years back that I so appreciate....you said to give students a long look in the eyes as often as possible, because "it would fill them up". I think the connection fills my heart too!

Just wanted you to know that I appreciate you, and probably there are many other teachers that read your insightful posts, and benefit from your wisdom.

How very cool of you to remember. I believe it was Vernice Pelzel, a preschool teacher/author/ college instructor who taught me that.

I just noticed if i would hold their gaze without expecting anything kids liked it. It is like a non verbal, "i'm here, I'm paying attention to you" i see kids do this with each other. If we can have smiling eyes and faces they feel valued and liked/loved.

As i got older i found men really liked it too.

Thanks for the reminder
