Has anyone used Flocabulary in their reading classes? If so, how did you use it?

I used Flocabulary this past year with my 6th grade class and loved it. The raps are sometimes corny, bit they still seem to enjoy it. I go over all of the words and help students pronounce any they are unfamiliar with and then we listen to the song. They will beg to listen to it again. I found giving them the list of words with the definitions worked best to save time and they are able to study for the test. I was able to take grades on the activities that go along with it. They are higher level words with higher level activities, but they can do it. I gave the list on Monday and tested them the following Wednesday. There are 15 words so they couldn't give me an excuse for not having time to study. Hope this helps.

I used one of their free videos in third grade this past year and my kids really enjoyed it. I didn't see any others that I could use....more for middle school I think.

I used it with my 9th graders. They seemed to enjoy it.

We are getting this program next year, so I haven't used it yet, but a couple of our teachers have used it at other schools and love it, which is why the principal bought into it.

I used it with my 5th graders... Language and Social Studies were our favorites. If you look carefully, this website will add great supplemental material to your lessons. I loved watching my kids take tests and I could see them singing the song to figure out the answers.

FYI- Be careful with the current events section because the contents could get you in trouble.
