DH in hospital
Old 11-18-2020, 08:32 AM
  #1

DH started feeling bad 2 weeks ago with severe abdominal pain. He's run a fever off and on, had some nausea and has no appetite (this from a guy who can graze all day). I've been trying to get him to go to a doctor but he wouldn't go. Finally this past weekend I put my foot down and told him I was going to call his Dr first thing Monday morning, and if I needed to I would call an ambulance to make him go. Talked to the PA, she talked to the Dr. and called me back with an appointment the next AM for a CT scan. They sent him from the radiology place right to the Dr. office, who sent him to be admitted to the hospital. His pancreas is swollen, not sure why. DH called me a few minutes ago and said they were going to do a biopsy this afternoon. He's still in pain, whatever is in his IV isn't working. And I can't be there with him. I hate not knowing, and the word biopsy scares the heck out of me.

Sending positive thoughts and prayers. It is so hard not being able to be in the hospital with them and waiting for updates. I hope you have good news soon.

I'm sorry to see this. Hoping the biopsy shows something easily treatable, and your dh feels more comfortable soon. Keeping him in my thoughts.

I'm so sorry, but at least he's where he can get a diagnosis and treatment! Prayers it's nothing major and he's home quickly!

Many times biopsies come back perfectly normal! I get that the word is scary though! (((((Hugs))))

Bad enough to have someone in the hospital, but to not be able to be there with them has got to be horrible. I hope you get answers soon, and that they point to something easily fixable.

I know you are worried but there is hope; my cousin's husband had similar symptoms a few months ago but has recuperated and is now back at work after being treated for pancreatitis. Praying for a full recovery for your husband and peace for you.

I am so sorry for all his pain and discomfort and your understandable worry. It has to be so incredibly hard to not be able to be there with him. DH's boss had similar symptoms about 3 years ago when he was diagnosed with pancreatitis. I hope whatever it is, its easily and quickly treatable.

Prayers abide.
