Whose house? I'm guessing someone who was in silent films?

I've never seen such a thing, but I'm certainly not surprised.

GG, I don’t know how to post a link to something I’m watching on TV.

bookgeek, they mentioned several names. I’m sorry, I only remember John Barrymore and Marlon Brando.

It has an aviary, too.

Wait! Found it! https://www.thealtmanbrothers.com/li...ills-ca-90210/

I love the look of the house, don't like the pool it doesn't have a deck. I did see Director King Vidor owned the house at one time. How cool would it be to use an Opium Den to read in.

Are those bars on the windows? Like security burglar bars? Or just something decorative? They need those in Beverly Hills?

Iíd only looked at the map and mistakenly told GG the house isnít in Beverly Hills, because itís practically in the Valley. Iíll bet youíre right and they are security bars because itís not the ďbestĒ neighborhood (even if it is technically Beverly Hills).

Sooooo many rooms and so many couches! I wish the pictures had captions telling what and where the rooms are. Which room is the opium den?

Remember, I watched this on TV and GG asked for the listing. On the TV show, they had to climb a ladder up to the opium den, which was a room with lots of plush seating—and I didn’t see any windows, but they could have been covered.

ETA: dutchgirl, I finally looked at the pics and they’re nothing like what I saw. The house has clearly been painted, updated, and staged.

dutch girl, I didn't know either, but I thought that dark room with brown wood and paneling all over looked opium den-like!
