Those annoying Black Lines?!

Does anyone have any idea why when downloading some items from Google Docs, the writing ends up with those black smudgy lines instead of the words? Has anyone had this problem before? Is there a solution?

the solution to this. If you have a mac, you need to download those docs as a PDF, instead of using Preview. i can't remember what I did, but now things are automatically downloaded through the right program, and I no longer have that problem.

Thanks BayAreaSub! I am on a Mac and oddly enough they do download as PDFs. Even in the PDF they show up.

Any idea what I can search for to locate that thread?

I have a mac too. I also get those gray smudgy boxes even on the pdf file. However....not all the pdf files do that.

So is it hit and miss with certain files or is there something I can do fix this?

It happens on every PDF attachment on our school email. You have to actually open the PDF file not just view it.

Thank you Angelajw, that worked! I didn't realize that PDFs are defaulted to be opened with Preview instead of Adobe Reader on my computer! They download as PDFs and I just assumed they were opening with Adobe... but low and behold... it was preview!

Thanks again!
