Are you okay? The flooding looks terrible. Hope you are all safe!

My part of town seems to be okay. I was at the gym and doing a few errands and saw no standing water.

My friend was stuck in traffic on a highway in central Jersey this morning due to flooded roads and came home after being unable to get to work. Main Street in the town I taught in was flooded last night, not sure how it was this morning. Several schools in the county were closed today.

Glad you are okay, NJ Teacher! What a mess! I feel so sorry for the people affected in all the places this storm passed through.

I live in Queens. The rain was insane. I never saw anything like it. I live on the 4th floor so I didn’t have any problems with flooding. But so many people did. They have reported that 12 people have drowned so far in NYC.

It was quite the wild night by me! I live right outside NYC in NJ. It rained so hard from 6:00 PM until 2:00 AM. I never saw rain like that! We got about 8 inches of rain. We started to get water in the basement but kept in under control with the wet dry vac and towels. It was in the unfinished part of the basement so luckily no damage. There were a lot of water rescues last night. I went out this morning and the roads are littered with abandoned cars. So many road closures. I was supposed to have in person PD today and we are having it remote.

A nearby town, Mullica Hill had 100 damaged homes plus 24 destroyed… terrible but no loss of life due to a tornado.

Philadelphia had major flooding one major road through the city has 15+ feet of water due to a broken pumping station.

Everything is fine with us, thank God.

I saw a video of that tornado in southern NJ! We aren't supposed to get tornadoes that size here! I thought those only occurred in Oklahoma lol. I would have died if I was driving on that bridge and saw that thing.

and awful. We are about 15 minutes away from where one tornado hit and had no issues, only rain and thunder. I read about a family of 4 with 2 young daughters and a pregnant mom going to their basement. Their house was leveled. The mom said thank God they had a walkout basement. All are fine. Gov. Murphy’s press conference today was outside of their destroyed house.

We never had tornadoes here. Just the new normal, I guess. Climate change is real.

Hope this link works…

This weather event is horrible for everyone in its path. I am thinking of all of those in the storm's path tonight. Water can do so much damage
