I am retained, at both districts

The five week wait is over. The superintendent started by saying the purpose of the meeting was to decide if I should be retained or released.

Due to my strong reputation with the schools, and my ability to state my case, he decided to allow me to stay.

As expected, I am not welcome at the school where the incident took place. Unfortunately, more than half of my jobs this year were at this school, so I will be limited.

I took the opportunity to go over the concept of "various" with the superintendent, which he knew nothing about.

I told him most jobs were offered as "various" and that six of the eight "various" jobs I accepted this year ended up at the school I must now avoid.

I told him I must avoid these various jobs.

I am glad to be back, but I am upset that it took five weeks to resolve this, and would still be ongoing if I did not try to resolve it myself.

He said he saw video recordings of the fight. This meeting should have taken place within a week or two.

My experience presents a strong case to work at multiple districts.

If I did not have other districts to pick up the slack, I would have lost $4000. Fortunately, I only lost about $200.

I actually picked up a late job today after 9:00 elsewhere, so I avoided losing $200 due to the meeting.

I also got a scare when I got called in to the superintendent at another district. I thought I was going to lose two districts, but I will discuss this later. My sense of humor got me in trouble with an aide.

I am glad this worked in your favor. I hate to work trying to be ultimately very careful, but it sounds like you need to do so. Good luck in the future.

Apparently a reasonable superintendent.

I'm actually surprised they even talked to you. Sometimes they don't even listen to your side.
