Terrific:
*It's a perfect day weather-wise: sunny, upper 70's, light breeze, low humidity.
*I got a lot of yard work done this morning.
*My morning glories are going crazy with blooms.
*I still have 5 days before I have to return to work.

Terrible:
*My neighbors are painting their house a horrendous shade of tomato red with gray trim. It was previously a redwood red with white trim, which was bad enough. At least I rarely look out the windows on that side of the house.
*I only have 5 days left before I have to go back to work.

-harvested crabapples (for jelly), basil, parsley, and tomatillos from my CSA at the museum. Between my garden and the museum CSA, dinner is covered for the week!

Terrific:
*I have a new book to read.
*Long walk today without knee pain.
*Generally mellow mood. (Maybe because long walk tired me out?)

Terrible:
*I knew quite a few people who served in our military in Afghanistan and I know they are struggling with the events overseas. My heart goes out to them.

In between.

Terrific - My band got booked for its first private party. Up until then we have mostly been playing at restaurants with one festival and one Country Club and a couple of senior homes.
The play I am directing is going well. My husband and I will celebrate our joint birthday which is the same day as our 15th wedding anniversary this coming Sunday. There is a blues festival in our town in the park right by our condo so we will celebrate there most of the weekend. My band plays at a festival during the afternoon of our big day. Found a new jazz festival to attend Labor Day weekend when the one we planned to go to went virtual again and our second choice also cancelled. Looking into getting my teaching certification after teaching for 20 years in schools that did not require them.

Not terrible but not terrific.
It looks like I will return to work as a teaching assistant for now as nothing panned out with the music jobs I had interviewed for. That could change, but tomorrow is the first inservice day at my district so I will be there. I am not really excited about it though I like the job. I am going through a lot of different emotions about this.
I am bummed to not go to one of the two big jazz festivals that we usually go to on Labor Day weekend/ The one we are going to is much smaller but at least it is something. With that and the festival we attended around the Fourth of July, this summer is better that last with the opportunities.

Terrific:
Last day of summer school - was actually a great experience and I would totally do it again.
Beautiful weather today - warm sun, cool air, slight breeze.
Boys had a decent first day of "real" school.

Terrible:
Tomorrow starts "real" school prep and PD days.
I didn't sleep last night and am totally feeling it.
My car needs worked on and they can't get it in until Thursday. We have to drive 5 hours on Sunday and mine is the only car with a/c. They better be able to fix it in two days!

Dear friends who live out of town came to visit for the day. They loved my backyard makeover, newly planted trees, and new side patio. We had takeout lunches and good conversation. A local friend also joined us for a while, and brought me some interesting reading material. All in all, a very pleasant day. So nice to be with others who are vaccinated!
