Where to buy a sofa

Our sofa and chair have officially bit the dust - 2/3 of the recliners are broken and won't sit back up, and the other one's handle broke so it's ridiculously hard to recline.

I am almost 50 years old and have never purchased a sofa!! We have been lucky to have been given fantastic hand-me-downs.

Where do I start? Is Costco a good place? I don't want Ikea - I've never liked their sofas. I think we all have liked the recliners on our current one. I like the leather we have, but dh prefers fabric. My kids are old enough that I actually don't mind the thought of buying a new sofa. It might be Santa's gift to the family this year.

I would check local furniture stores. It's an investment so get the best you can afford. A friend of mine is looking for a new sectional, the kind where they choose the fabric they want, and they were told it will take 8 months, just fyi.

Costco does have some really good furniture from time to time. You have to just luck into it, though.
Look for a good local store. The big chain places around here usually don't have the best quality furniture.

We have purchased from Slumberland. They now have flex steel. Buy what you see at the store unless you’re willing to wait a few months. My dh ordered a chair. It’s expected to be here between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We ordered it two months ago.

We have always purchased our living room furniture from a local furniture store. Besides being high quality, they deliver, and I like to support the local economy.

The couch and love seat we FINALLY got rid of were 33 years old! They had never been reupholstered. I reminded them of this when we went looking to replace them. They said they hoped we would find what we needed, but didn't expect them to be near the same price as ours from 33 years ago!

I’ve only bought a few couches and they were all from local furniture stores. But ifyou don’t find one you like in stock prepare to wait….

We have a a sofa, chair and Recliner from LazyBoy. The sofa and chair don’t recline and all are very comfortable and well made.
My DIL works in a furniture shop so be prepared to wait for delivery. She says LazyBoy is great quality.

We buy all of our furniture and appliances at Nebraska Furniture Mart. I think they deliver all over the country.

We special ordered 2 chairs last November 10, and I am still waiting! Look around at your local businesses and start by asking what they have in stock.

I second LazyBoy. We have two fabric couches, two fabric one-and-a-half person chairs (not sure what actual name is), and two leather recliner‘s from La-Z-Boy. All of them have held up well and are very comfortable.

We love our sofa & chair from Lazy Boy furniture Gallery. We had ordered first from Raymour & Flanagan but they lied to us about refunding us on a sale price so we canceled the order. I don't recommend them. My aunt & cousin have bought their furniture from Ashleys. They have been satisfied with their purchases.

I love my Costco sofa! I bought the modular one that you can set up multiple ways. I’ve had it for almost two years now and love it. Sorry the light is bad, but it is the picture on the top. It is so comfortable!

I just sent a pic of the on the bottom to my dd who is looking for something smaller.
