My father's health issues

My father has had any number of health issues, some ongoing, some new. He has chronic back pain from Vietnam (he's also mostly deaf). He recently had surgery on a valve in his neck and the scar is giving him fits.

He has had shoulder pain for who knows how long that he just got looked at yesterday (which means he's probably been in pain for months ) and he needs a steroid shot. But, they need to do while they're looking at an x-ray or something so they know they're going in the correct spot.

Then, today I get a text from my mom that he fell and the back of his knee is swollen. They're at immediate care now. Aik and I are going over tonight. I love that I can just go over.

This man is going to be the death of me. Growing up he never got hurt. Boy is he making up for it.

(((GG)))
I am sorry your dad is having continuing health concerns and hope the latest will resolve itself without problems. I hope the steroid shot will relieve his shoulder pain. Going over tonight will surely cheer him up especially with Aik going too. TaKe care of yourself.

I am so sorry your father's health is failing. It is so hard to see our parents suffer.

Ouch. Making up for lost time, huh? I'm glad you're close enough to just go over.

No doubt it's a relief to them that you are close by. Aik will probably be the best medicine, after you of course.

Raising our parents is hard! I am glad you are close enough now to run over.

My dad, who has had 6 surgeries on both of his rotator cuffs, has done something to his shoulder. It was bothering him over the summer. Either from taking care of my mom (a lot of work) or pushing himself doing things around the house (way too much). He mentioned something about it and I told him to get his ass to the doctor and find out what is wrong and what needs to be done to alleviate his pain. I will take off whatever time I need to, whenever it needs to happen to come back and help them through it. Silly guy. Of course, I will. Without asking.

It would be nice to be closer, but even if I lived in the same town, I would have to take off. Can't leave my mom alone to care for my dad. .

Parents are definitely hard to raise.
