Hurricane update

I live in southwest ga and my town and the town I work in was hit hard. No electricity for at least 4-5 weeks we have been told! We are in the country!! Towns are on Ga power and they are working hard. We have some damage but we can rebuild what we lost. The school at work at has very extensive damage. We just got cell service back. Someone cut a fiber optic wire while cleaning up.
We do not know about our school except that a recovery team is here to repair/ fix/ or what ever they can do.
The POUS flew over our town and the town I work in to see the damage. Both towns have been called ground zero!!!
This is awful but we will survive!!!

I am so sorry you are going through this. I hope you get power soon and the schools can be repaired quickly.

I know my son is in Georgia helping to restore y'alls power. Those of us on the Gulf coast of TX are feeling your misery.

My parents live outside of the small town of Pelham in SWGA. They are still without power. Thankfully they got water back. Their cell and landline phone service is spotty. I think the school there is closed until further notice...so many without power. Thankful it wasn't any worse. I did hear that FEMA and Samaritan's Purse should be in the area this week. I really feel bad for all the farmers who have had extensive damage.
Hope the restoration efforts in your area go well.

My sister lives in Northern Georgia and they seem to always escape the huge storms. Hopefully your road to recovery isn't a long one!

I am so sorry that you were in the path of the storm. I hope you have a generator or a place to stay until you get power back on. Prayers for your community and all those affected!
