that are going to push me over the edge and finally kill DH

Just kidding (kinda)

For some reason he says "night clothes" instead if "pajamas" and it drives me bonkers. Where did he even get that? Do other people say "night clothes" too?

And my mother keeps my kids when we don't have school. She's had the calendar all year long. She knows which days the kids are off that I have to work. In the last two weeks she has asked me if I have to work on Monday. She just texted and asked if I have to work all day. Why!?! I have never ever ever worked just part of a day. It is not a thing. I have to be there all day long just like every single other day. We've done this for years. I cannot figure her out. I have offered to get someone else to watch the kids. She is adamant she wants to do it. It's a stupid weird game I do not like to play!

Both issues are complete nonsense that shouldn't bother me, but they do.

I have called my pjs night clothes. I actually refer to them as my comfy clothes now because they are not really pajamas but yoga pants and a t-shirt.

I used to call pajamas "night night clothes". I sometimes still do just to be cute.

My folks always called pajamas "night clothes."

But then, my dad wore those old-fashioned night shirts that came down to his calves like you see in movies made in the 1930s! Yes, he was a bit behind the times! (Before he died, the ONLY place they could be found was in the Old Vermont Country Store catalog!)

I'm not familiar with night clothes. When I hear something like that, I wonder if the difference in how I say something and how other people say it is generational or geographic.

Years ago, I had an Urdu-speaking student. He told me a character in a book was getting ready for bed, and I asked how he knew that. He said, "Because she is wearing polka-dotted night clothes." Love that kid.

That is the only time I have ever heard the phrase "night clothes."
