Veneers, anyone?

Has anyone gotten veneers for their front teeth? Wondering what your experience was, after the procedure.

After years of hating the look of my front teeth, and saving money from tutoring and a curriculum-writing gig, I got 4 veneers on my top front teeth. I spent $3000.00 and so far 3 have broken off! My dentist fixed one for no cost, but the first one (my fault) happened on a Saturday, just before I was due to leave for a vacation, so I went to the after-hours emergency dentist. With the third and most recent one, the tooth underneath actually broke! Iíve had a root canal and tomorrow he will finish building me a tooth. On top of all that, Iíve maxed out my dental benefits! Iím so frustrated!

My dentist is really nice, but Iím thinking it might be time to look for a new one.

You have a 75% failure rate with your veneers. I think I would find a new dentist. Are you able to check ratings for dentists on an online site? That seems like maybe he did not do them right? Good luck!

You need a new dentist. I had my two top teeth veneered about 25 years ago. Last year I broke one off because I tried to bite into a Carmel Apple sucker.

I ended up getting both replaced, and the two on either side. My dentist spent a good 30 minutes just popping them on and off to make sure she got them in perfectly.

Seriously, you need a new dentist.

I'd get a new dentist. I got my front tooth veneer 20+ years ago. I have never had any problem.

Thank you all for your input. Iíve decided I am going to find a new dentist. I donít think the veneers were done properly, which is a shame considering how much they cost! Sigh!
