Is anyone else having problems with fireworks in their area? Theyíve been going off here for the last few weeks until weíll past midnight and Iím about to lose my mind. I absolutely hate them. I canít sleep and I hate the loud noise. Someone is shooting Off the loud ones that sound like cannons. Itís horrible. Ironically, I think theyíre helping Mason sleep. Go figure.

I heard several last night. They were probably from about 9:00-11:00 at night. I was trying to figure out why they would be setting them off...what's the occasion?

Yes. We have one house in our neighborhood that sets them off year round. Sometimes as late as 2 or 3 in the morning. Fireworks are illegal in our city but it doesn't stop them. My understanding is the police have to see them in the act to do something. I'm going to start calling anyway. We are so tired of the noise. The fireworks scare the dog and freak the cat out.

Weíve had problems for weeks. They are being set off all around my house. They shake my entire house and set off car alarms. Yes, my sleep is affected. I am sensitive to things that make loud noises like this due to some events in my life. I get very agitated and anxious. My dog becomes a nervous wreck and I have to tranquilize her. Drugs like this arenít good for lengths of time.

The police help some, but they have been otherwise occupied with protests. In addition, since it's Juneteenth weekend, the police wonít answer calls about fireworks since itís common for people to celebrate with fireworks.

I live in a huge city with a bunch of people who donít care about the effects of fireworks on animals, people or structures. Frustrating!

This has become common on my town's FB page:

Person A: Just letting people know we'll be setting off some fireworks when the sun goes down tonight.
Person B: Thank you
Person C: OOO, where? We want to watch
Person D: Great, thanks to you my dog will be scared.
Person A: That's whey we're letting you know, so you can plan for your pets.
Person E: My dogs are going to be so upset.
Person A: Hopefully you can plan for them now.
Person F: Don't people know children sleep? Fireworks are too noisy
Person A: I was trying to make people aware so they can plan.....

Shortly after nightfall on the same page:
Person G: Oh my gosh, does anyone else hear gunshots? I'm sure they are gunshots
Person H: Nah, it's just those people in the big city near us. They're always noisy.
Person I: Every other town in the area is talking about how those noises come from the city.
Person J: Here's a link to proof it's from the city (link is three years and two months old)

And I just scroll on by ...... Is everyone's town this silly?!
Although my neighbor's son did shoot some off at midnight a few days ago and I wasn't happy. It's very thoughtless if it's much past nightfall.

Youthcantknow - No one announces they are setting them off around here. But we can usually count on someone on the Ring app asking if anyone else heard gunshots. Then the debate begins.

DH and I joke that another fireworks or gunshots post will be up soon once we hear them start.

I gotta tell you, at this point Iím ashamed to say that Iím hoping they burn down their houses or burn off an appendage. Iíve never wished that on anyone before, but this is so out of hand.

It's been weeks now. I just don't understand why people think they have the right to annoy everyone.

One of my dogs is terrified by fireworks. I have to medicate her on the 4th of July and New Year's Eve. I personally dislike them as well. Our town won't do away with them because they are a money maker for philanthropic groups. We have some of the worst air pollution in the nation yet they let them be legally sold and set off. This makes me incredibly angry!

Our neighbor app goes crazy. Most nights I can deal with it. Now when it starts rattling my windows, I get a little upset. Luckily, it does not bother our dog. We have another neighbor that has PTSD. He has a hard time with it. We told him if he ever needs to come over and hang out he is welcome to. He had to put some sound proofing up last week in one of his rooms because it is getting so bad. I am glad he did because this weekend was loud!

I also do not care for the gunshots in a residential area. Last year, two bullets went through the house across the street from us. Not cool.

Fireworks upset my dog, so I don't like them. Neither of us sleep well during it. I wish they would just stop at 9 pm.
