1. This is hard for me to answer. I live in what I’d call a medium-sized community (45,000ish) that is part of a large city (1,400,000). It’s interesting that you ask this because it’s something that was of major importance to me when I moved. After living in what we in California call a small town (16,000), I wanted to live someplace big enough that there are lots of services and lots to do. I was lucky and this is just right for me now.

2. Nestle wild berry flavored water bottles.

3. Not really a creation, but last year I did something that was recommended here. I wrote 52 sentences about DD, cut them, rolled them, put them in a decorative container with a ribbon, and wrote “instructions” to open 1 per week. Big hit.

4. QVC twice, but not from watching the show, just from looking online for best price.

1) In the middle, but it's growing!
2) Back in the 80s, Pizza Hut used to have this pizza called "Priazzo" that tasted out of this world!
3) No, but I do know how to make something creative that I could start selling! My mom's best friend's mother taught me how to make it.
4) Oh yes AND HSN too!

1. I live in a small town that was a tiny town when we moved here many years ago. It’s growing too fast.

2. My mom’s fabulous baked mac and cheese.

3. I have in the past but that gave way to baking Italian cookies for friends and dog biscuits for their pets.

4. Yes, QVC. Last purchase was a couple years ago when they had a special on Luminara battery-powered candles. I have them throughout the house.

1) Urban area, dog-eat-dog mentality, People do NOT care about their neighbors and we have Parking Wars every day.
Wish I lived in a very small town.

2) The foods ARE still around, but we just don't eat them, even though I love them. Mom used to make Chicken Francaise and Chicken Cordon Bleu and I loved it. I order those dishes when we go out to eat. Have not attempted making them myself.

3) Used to create A LOT of handmade gifts, but the recipients did NOT appreciate them. So, now my son and I make handmade cards. We only give the handmade cards to people who appreciate them. Everyone else gets a store bought cards.

4) No...but, I watch and drool over the items. Love watching the fashions.

Yes! I didn't remember the name of it until you posted that, but it was so awesome! I think it was the early 90's when we got it.

3. Some baked goods.

4. No - when that was all there was, I was too nervous to put my card out there.

2. My grandmother's homemade cream puffs and eclairs. I know this isn't exactly what you had in mind but it's what came to mind.

3. Yes. This year I'm making crib sheets, pillow cases, and blankets for my GSs and a quilt for my DD and DSIL.

4. Never have.

1. I live in a community that is part of a big city (1.4 million). Like amiga I would consider my community medium-sized. There is a movement to split off from the big city, because my community as a whole pays a lot more in property taxes than the rest of the city but gets far less in return. We have almost no police coverage and also the biggest and the most potholes.

2. food from the past: old-fashioned great-tasting apples that aren't just the few commercially grown ones.

3.handmade gifts for the holidays? I used to make oven mitts, decorative pillow covers, knit sweaters and scarves, baked goods, candies, etc.

4.Never

1. Middle sized city, near large city.
2. Nothing that I can think of now
3. I sew, do hand embroidery, etc all year round. I love to try and test my creative ability! Mostly sewing unique toddler dresses now.

1.Do you live in a small town, a large city, or a place that is kind of in the middle?
Born and raised in big city, have lived in a suburb of said city since marriage.

2.What food from the past do you wish was still around?
Hmmmm....those weird chopped steak patties with a pat of butter on the top.
Bugles snack thingies.

3.Do you create any handmade gifts for the holidays?
Definitely yes this year. Making my cigar boxes and Altoid tins for some friends and relatives.

4.Have you ever purchased anything from a home shopping channel like QVC?
Back in the day, I used to buy Kirkís Folly jewelry from QVC. I loved everything about those shopping events. Still have the jewelry but rarely wear it anymore.

Itís also where I learned about the original Orthoheel (now Vionic) shoes. I bought the flip flops on QVC.

1. I lived in Austin, Texas for most of my teaching career. When I retired I moved to Temple, TX 70 miles north. I consider Temple a small town but but since 75 thousand people live here that is probably not really considered a small town.

2. When I was a young child my mother bought a cake/ice cream roll that looked like a jelly roll cake. The cake was chocolate and the ice cream was vanilla. It was delicious and I wish you could still buy this product today.

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/dc/68...98d20d0905.jpg

3. I made many of my gifts this year. I have learned to fuse glass and create mosaics since I retired. I made a shabby chic cake stand and cover using mosaic, I made a mosaic garden gazing ball from an old bowling ball and I made fused glass pendant and earrings set to just name a few gift items.

4. I have never purchased anything from a shopping channel. I do shop on Etsy and Ebay fairly often.

Oooh! 1956BD your fused glass mosaics sound really pretty. Have you considered sharing photos on the creative outlet thread? I would love to see some of them.

And "Hello neighbor!" from a fellow Texan!
