Centers in a partial inclusion room

Hi all -

I am going to be teaching in a 3rd and 4th grade partial inclusion program where all of my students receive their math and ELA instruction from me. These students are on varying levels, but none read above a Kindergarten/1st grade level. That being said, I am unsure how to approach setting up centers (i.e. specifically math centers) since some of these students have close to grade level math skills, but again, wouldn't be able to read center instructions. I've thought of using visual directions, but some of the centers I've found that I want to use are pretty complicated for that.

Any thoughts?

I don't know what level of technology you have available in your classroom, but my friend teaches 2nd grade and he regularly will make videos of how to do independent activities/centers and leaves them at the center on devices.

Screencast or Google Video or Audio

I hate video taping myself so I do audio recordings and have them for the kids. This can be high tech (iPad voice memo where they match station title to memo title) or low tech (cd player or those station direction buttons!)

Stations have changed my resource teacher life!!

Love this idea! Not sure what technology I will have available - I am starting in two weeks and looking to just get a jump start on things! I will have a para so I was hoping to do three centers, two teacher led and one independent. I have an iPad so this could very easily work.

What a great idea to show incorporating tech too, thanks for the idea!

Thanks TeacherSped83! Could you share some of the ways you do centers in your classroom? I've only found a couple of blogs but they seem to be geared towards autism. My students all have a neurological or communication disorder, but not autism.
