This year I teaching 1st/2nd self contained. I think it would be a good idea to do either or both post card exchange and penpals. Let me know if anyone is interested or where I could go to look about this. Thanks. By the way I am in New York...

What writing level would your students be on? I have my own classroom and another self contained class in my room and I think that we may be able to work something out. (I'm from MA)

I, too am in Special Education, but my classroom is very different from most. I have 1 student. She is severly handicapped and is non verbal and has the mental capabilities of an 18 month old. She is a 5th year senior this year. I have trouble finding things to do with her. She is not able to retain information for more than a few minutes and is bored. She has been in school since she was 3. I am interested in doing the postcard exchange as she does like pictures and bright colors. If anyone is interested please let me know. There is not a lot she could put on a postcard. Mainly, hello from ........
I am from Montana.

I don't really know the level yet of my students because we haven't started yet. Though I believe I have a real range of students. As of now I have 11 on my register (but that can always change). The most I can have technically is 12.
