Virtual teaching sub solution

Here is what our grade level team decided to do in case we are out. We are all on the same schedules and teaching mostly the same things, so that is not an issue. We divided our kids up into groups, and gave each teacher one of our groups. Those kids log on with that teacher for the day so they are still getting all of their daily instruction, but we are not needing to make sub plans. We've done it a few times and, with the exception of those couple of parents that can't figure anything out, it has worked really well. It's no extra work for each teacher, and a lot less work for the one who is out!

Thatís great..

We have in our contract that we canít ďsplitĒ classes unless itís an extreme emergency and apparently it applies to virtual teaching too.

This sounds very practical! I also teach adults and have had to switch over to some remote teaching so I know how difficult teaching remotely is... I'm sure many subs would be less than qualified to teach kids remotely. I find it challenging enough with adults and am honest enough to say I'd be challenged to do it with kids, so it seems to me this would also work best for the kids. Well done!
