Covid shortages

What are you struggling to get in stores these days?

I had trouble finding bacon bits
I went to two stores. Last store only had store brand and a large bag. Weird thing to be out of!

We still struggle to find Lysol wipes. DH just restocked toilet paper and paper towels.

I think I'm going to get a "spare" of a few things...bleach, chocolate

Still can't find Lysol or Clorax wipes, either!

Also hard to find Diet Dr. Pepper.

Canned drinks. We have switched to 2-liter bottles because we canít find cans of the things we prefer.

Iím limited in the number of containers of baby wipes I can buy. I use them to clean up Mom, and I use quite a few per day.

Campbellís chicken broth.

Our supermarket had a sign in the soda aisle saying you might not be able to get your favorite brands in cans because of an aluminum shortage.

There wasn't much hand soap to choose from when I ordered from Target the other day.
We haven't found Clorox wipes - of course I rarely go into a store. I've heard different places have had them I just can't order them online.
When I order from Costco next week I'll likely stock up on TP and other paper products that were hard to find early on.
I'm able to get most of the items I order on Instacart.

Plain canned pumpkin (not pie mix)!
One store was completely out, another was nearly twice the price for the same size can.

If tp is becoming scarce again consider the commercial rolls. I bought one carton of 8 rolls back in March for $20.00. Just started roll #5!

Lysol and Clorox wipes are nearly impossible but store brands are a bit easier.

But I have not seen bleach wipes in months. We must have over 100 rolls of tp. Do not want to get caught short this winter. I buy a package every time we go out!

spray starch. I find that an odd thing to be scarce. I use it for some of my quilting. I still have a container but just one. I look when I shop but haven't seen it in about a month. It's availabe on Amazon but at 4 times the price.

Diet IBC root beer - itís in glass, so not affected by aluminum shortage - none here since March! It really is the only soda I enjoy.

Living alone, thereís not much that Iím still looking for. As I find things that were short before, I pick one up.

I have almost given up trying to find Lysol wipes and spray. We have weird shortages. Coconut milk was out for weeks. This week, no lime flavored seltzer. We just never know what won't be there. I am starting to COVID stock again. Making sure that I have what we will need. So this week stocked up on necessities- coffee and wine!

Everything has been pretty well stocked here recently. I ship at Target normally and they just started curbside pickup for cold/frozen items which makes me love Target even more.
I have been getting tp and paper towels delivered from Wal-Mart, they come in 2 days.

Pumpkin is always hard to find in my area in October/November for some reason.

If any of you need hand soap and the normal stores don’t have any try TJ Maxx, my local store had a double sided aisle full when I was in there last week.

I read last night that Coca-Cola is cutting their production by 50%:

Powdered Tide
Finish/Jet Dry
Bounty paper towels
any type of disinfectant sprays or wipes

If wipes are available, there is usually a limit. I was at our local Dollar General and they had wipes without a limit. I felt sort of greedy taking four containers, but it wasnít like I cleared out their stock. They actually had about 20 more.

Whenever I shop I buy a package or two of TP, also.

Baking soda- customer service checked and said it wasnít on their warehouse list so that meant the supplier didnít send any.

Canned pumpkin- I read that it had something to do with a late pumpkin season and they havenít produced what they would have but will be catching up

Shortages

We can not find any cream corn now, which is an odd food to not see. Lysol and Clorox wipes are not as scarce, but can only buy 1 canister at a time. Also, there is no caffeine free Diet Pepsi in bottles!

Hand soap.
Bounty Paper towels (seriously, they've been MIA for weeks. What gives??)
Spaghetti sauce (my specific brand)
Frozen hashbrowns (my specific brand)

It's gotten so when I go to the store I have no idea what will actually be in stock, so I buy 2 of everything if I see it. Maybe everyone else is doing the same and that's why there are so many shortages??

I think common sense and consideration for people to be the two biggest shortages caused by COVID.

pumpkin has been in short supply - but I also read it was due to a late season and not a shortage. The article I read said to be patient and that it would be out soon. Wipes have finally shown up at our commissary. We've had Lysol spray for a while - both items have a restriction of you can only buy 1. Other cleaners are still hit or miss. Sometimes it's hard to tell whether it's a real shortage or an issue at our commissary. It's not the best during regular times.

I still can't find basic cleaning supplies that have nothing to do with Covid. I like to use an every day after shower spray for my shower walls so I don't have to scrub it, and it's NEVER in stock at the store. I get things like clorox wipes, but people think Covid is in their shower? 7 months later?? What gives?!

One day I randomly found a Target brand when I was there and snatched it up- I should have gotten 2-3 at least. I'm now out of that bottle and I've checked a few times, and they never have it either anymore.

Clorox/Lysol wipes are never anywhere. Thankfully, I had a stockpile at school and we're no longer allowed to use them (we have a cleaner we're supposed to spray all of the time now, and we can't use other cleaners because of potential interactions). So when I'm getting low, I just bring a canister home from school.

I also recently had a hard time finding those toilet bowl cleaner refills. After looking for a couple of weeks at my regular grocery store, I happened upon the last 2 boxes at Target and finally got some. Again, why is this a shortage item? That has nothing to do with increased cleaning due to Covid concerns.

I love my Diet Dr. Pepper, and thankfully that's never been a shortage item around here. TP/paper towels have also been back in stock for a long time. It's the cleaning supply aisles that are always bare.

I went just this morning. On my list but not available:

Local milk
My usual toilet paper
Bird seed
The coffee creamer I like

I went to another store and luckily got my creamer, although at an exorbitant price. I also bought the store brand milk (they didn’t have the local either) and the store brand toilet paper to try.

The clerk at the first store said they have been getting about 50% of what they order.

That, plus Coke has decided to stop making some/many of their specialty sodas. We've long had troubles finding cherry coke.

Adam's natural Peanut butter. Had trouble for a long time at the beginning. It's been around now since this summer. Now, two weeks in a row I can't find it.

Also, weirdly, some kinds of pasta, both early on, and again
