What do I need to know about this game? I just noticed it's on my phone, so one of my kids added it. I think I remember seeing something somewhere about it not being appropriate for kids but I have no idea where I heard that or what was bad about it.

Chat function is the problem

As with many Online multi-player games, the problem is with the chat function. You can play with strangers, so you know all that is opened up by that.

Here's a link to the Common Sense Media review. https://www.commonsensemedia.org/gam...semedia.org%2F

Parent comments reference the foul language, sexual talk, and name-calling that is introduced with the chat function.

I think the game itself is fine. It's a "Ghost in the Graveyard" type game, with a few people being the designated "killers" and everyone else trying to find out who it is.

The chat seems to be the biggest issue. But isn't it always?

The game can be made private. Ive played it with my grandkids several times and itís a lot of fun. The premise is that youíre on a spaceship but one of you is an imposter. You get a set of tasks that the crewmates have to complete. Meanwhile the person who is the designated imposter at some point kills one of the crewmates (by pushing a button) and the others have to figure out who did it.

and his friends play it only in their own group, so they don't have to worry about the chat. If you have enough players, then in the game, you have 2 imposters. They are a group of college and post college young men who play video games in tournaments. They like that they can play this game and chat at the same time.

Itís a digital version of the party game ďmafia.Ē You can make it private and only play with friends.

Iíve played it with my students, and itís a lot of fun. Weíre 100% virtual, so theyíve set up a sign up sheet for each other to play at the same time after school or during lunch breaks. One student hosts and gives the others the code.

You can also set the chat to censor, but it only censors properly spelled vulgarities.

We wrote shape poems last week and about half of the class created and wrote about imposters! I had to have them tell me what they were. They enjoyed teaching me a thing or two for a change.
