Helping revise and edit student writing virtually

Clip to ScrapBook #1

We started hybrid today. Half of my class is remaining virtual. I have a few kids two days a week and three kids who are ELL and are four days a week. I am wondering how to help revise and edit their writing if they are virtual. I met with three small groups this afternoon and we discussed their writing but I can't see it that well on line. I have tried photos of some math work tut very few parents actually send them.

I am wondering what others do.

We are writing realistic fiction. I had given them an organizer that they are using on Google Classroom. In person today, without technology, in person students had no access. I guess I will have to print theirs.

Thank you.

Can they write on a Google Doc. Then you can add suggestions and comments and/or go in and edit.

In accessibilities they can turn on dictation. Also, it gives them suggested words as they type. My students got really good at using both features.

Thank you. But it is an assessment. I don't want the spelling or punctuation corrected by the computer. I need to see what they do themselves.
