Virtual Hour of Code Family Event

Clip to ScrapBook #1

So, I volunteered yesterday to do an event in December.

I thought to make a little bitmoji room with the links to Hour of Code and Code. org and just encourage families to work together and do some coding.

However, I do want to make it a little interactive - maybe a short video of me encouraging student/families to problem solve and try different things or one of the premade for Hour of Code videos. I was thinking of adding a padlet for families to come back to an maybe add a picture or screenshot and a comment after they are done kind of as an exit ticket.

Anyone seen anyone planning something similar? Have any ideas for me to encourage people to participate?

I have not heard of this before, but I really like this idea! We are actually in school f2f, but we aren't able to have any of our usual family events. This would be a great way to involve families. I like the Padlet idea at the end for them to share their experiences from the event. I will be sharing this idea with our admin/tech folks on Monday! Thanks!
