We are focusing on asking and answering questions in reading. I'm going to use 3 categories: "Right there" questions, "Think and Search" questions, and "The Author and Me" questions. Do you have any ideas for a mentor text I could use?

That’s my favorite thing to teach. Any text will work for that as long as it’s a high quality text. I’d google “great read alouds for 4th (5th?) grade.

I really like to do “The Man Who Walked Between the Towers”, the story about Jackie Joyner Kersie, women who have broken records and right now I think you’d have to an RBG book.

And you can never go wrong with Patricia Polacco.
