Jamboard in google classroom

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I have a few questions:
I made a jamboard and put it in my google classroom as an assignment
I shared it as anyone with a link

So, When I do this with my class (we do it together, they are virtual) I open it and I can see my jam. How do they see it? Do I have to present? If I present my jamboard, can they edit on it? Do I have to put the link in the chat bar? What's the simplest way to open it up and we can all see it and write on it with post its? Or like I'm askig below, do they have to go onto classwork page and open it from there and then type on it?

Same question for a google slides. When I assign it, I share it as anyone with a link. So, do they have to go into the classwork page and open it from there or do I present it and they can type on it when I present it?

Thank you for any help.

In Google Classroom create an assignment and add the Jamboard from your drive and then click the option that reads students can edit file - click assign and now students can work on it together and you can view it. If you want students to have their copy just click the option to create a copy for each student.I find this to be the easiest way.

You could also open a Jamboard in a Meet by clicking on the “snowman” - three dots, then click get Jamboard or create a new blank that the students can access from a link in the chat box.

I hope this helps

You can open a Jamboard from inside a Meet. Click on those triangle icons at the top of the Meet and select an existing jamboard. Choose the one you've already created and then it will post a link to the chat. It will say sonething like "Ms. Tyrex has shared a Jamboard with you" and it will have a link. This would be easier than having them go into Classroom, but that would also work.

With Google Slides, you can share the link through Classroom, email, or in the Meet chat. You can present it from inside the Meet by presenting your screen, but they will have to interact with it on another tab outside the Meet. When you present your screen, they can type on it from a different tab, and their changes will show up live on your presented copy. But they won't be able to click on the Slides that you're presenting. I hope that makes sense.

You can also just share the link to the jamboard in the chat. Just so you know, students who enter after you add the link in chat won't see the link unless you send it again.
