Being on Hold

I am currently sitting here on hold with ETS. I've been listening to the same song over and over for an hour. I really dislike having to be on hold so long. They keep saying that have a high volume of calls and that I have greater than 30 minutes to wait. Grr. Does anyone feel the same?

Still on hold?

Are you still on hold now? I feel your frustration. I like how some places will call you back in the order your call was received instead of having you wait on hold that long.

Soooooo irritating, especially if they keep interrupting with “your call is important to us”. I put it on speaker and go about my business.

There are a lot of businesses like airlines that call you back now. I respect that because it means I can go about my business. Being on hold just gets you upset and makes for a bad situation. Sorry.

I hate being on hold for long! It's annoying, and you can only get so much done walking around the house holding a phone.

I really like that so many companies now offer to call you back when someone is available to talk to you. But I still have to walk around holding the phone....

Put it on Speaker

And do your thing.

They probably wonder why people get snippy with them - it’s that all of our patience is spent waiting on hold for hours on end listening to static, bad music, or recurring ads about how “many services are actually available online!”

I can't imagine anyone would disagree with this.

I agree with speakerphone and moving on! But it's really disconcerting to then be pulled back into the conversation with the person on the phone.

I did put it on speakerphone and continued doing what I had to do. By the time my phone call was over it was 2 hours and 14 minutes.

Skeletal staffs

I think a lot of these customer service lines have skeletal staffs working. I had to deal with Customer Service at QVC, and they kept kicking me off without giving me the option to remain on the line. If I could have handled it online, I would have. Finally, I kept hitting “O” and got a person.

Last month, I wanted to heat a recording, did not need a person, to check my Amazon credit card balance. I got a recording that their call center was closed. Luckily, I did not owe them money!

I hate waiting. Usually, I put the phone on speaker and do something else. I hope you got through.
