What size classroom rug?

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hello!
Next year will be my first year teaching kindergarten! I should have 20 students- maximum 22. I am trying to decide whether to get a rug with 24 seating spots or 30 seating spots. I don't want the rug to be too big for 20 students, but I also am thinking maybe it would be good to have extra room to space the kids out. Which would you prefer?
Thank you!!

to consider making such a big purchase. We have been told to take home all soft textiles including rugs/carpets because of the Covid cleaning schedule. You may not be allowed to use a rug or carpet.

I agree with booklady57, but if I could have a rug I would choose the large one for more spacing ability.

I'd go for the bigger one, but I also agree that you should wait on making any purchases (especially big ones) until you know what you already have and what is being mandated by your school/district.

Before you buy a rug check the district requirements. Rugs may have fire proofing requirements. We had several teachers have to take home rugs that did not meet fire standards.

Kindergartens (in normal times) should have rugs provided by the school. Donít spend your money unnecessarily.
